Regular disco balls are fun - but have you ever seen disco balls as tiny as these?!

Due to the pandemic this year, many people are choosing to celebrate the start of the new year safely at home. So to bring a little glitz and glam your way, we came up with a fun DIY to add a little extra sparkle to your holiday! These DIY Disco Ball Letters are so much fun to make and you can spell out just about any phrase you want with them. We kept ours simple and went with “YAY” because that pretty much sums up how we feel about entering the new year.

DIY Disco Ball Letters

You can use these disco ball letters however you like but we think they’d make great cake toppers or photo booth props. You can also save these and use them year-round for celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries. Put them together to create numbers or try spelling out names, too! There are so many ways to get creative with these. And did we mention how easy they are to make? All you need is 10 minutes and a few supplies and you’re all set to start making.

What You Will Need:

Mini Disco Ball Ornaments (24 total)
Hot Glue Gun + Glue Sticks
Wooden Skewers (make sure they are food safe if you plan to use these as cake toppers)

How To:

Step 1) Gently pull out the strings from your disco ball ornaments.

Step 2) Arrange your disco balls to spell out your desired phrase. Once you’re happy with how they look, use your hot glue gun to glue your disco balls together. Get creative with it or feel free to use the image below as a reference.

Step 3) If you plan to use these as cake toppers, insert a wooden skewer into each of your disco ball letters. Note: The disco balls we used had a styrofoam center which made this process easy but if yours are different you can glue your skewers onto your letters instead.
