Anne Getting Her Groove on! - Page Text Content

FC: Anne Getting Her Groove on!

1: Catherine, me. | Me, as ghost of Anne Boleyn | Me, laughing at Hershey.

2: Maybe I'll become famous through my art. I hope so. If not, I hope I'm remembered for the activism I was involved in, striving to give control and dignity into the hands of people with disabilities. | Me, on day of documentary.

3: At one point in the interview, I actually broke down and cried. I cried when the realization hit me that people like me don't have many choices in life. If you have an attendant who abuses you, you don't have the option of asking for someone else. If you want to escape the abuse by getting funding to hire your own people, you don't have the choice of getting as many hours as you need. Six hours a day of assistance is the flat rate. Even then, getting this type of government funding (Direct Funding) is as likely as winning the lottery because only 700 people in Ontario can receive it at one time. | "Feelings of Invisibility" With blood dripping from my wrist, I write "I AM NOT INVISIBLE" while pointing to an open window that is out of my reach. I'm also anchored diown. It's one of my favourite paintings. | Me, painting.

4: Art show ar 519 Church St. My friend Motria & me. | Rob/Thingfish & Annie/Scarlett, Canada's Wonderland meet, June 1991
