1: The Coastal Plains is the largest region of Texas.It includes the Piney Woods, Gulf Coast, and the south Texas hill country.

2: The climate is very hot and humid. Hurricanes can occur along the gulf coast.

3: Many tornadoes also form here.

4: This region gets 30-55 inches of rain per year. This is more than any other region.

5: The amount of rainfall allows the Piney Woods to grow.

6: The Coastal Plains has many factories and refineries.

7: The Coastal Plains also has many ship ports.
