Great job on this book, there were some very powerful photographs in it. Ones that are haunting, even saddening, but also important because of how they remind us of the past.

FC: THe History of Photography

1: "OFF" by Roger Fenton. Taken during the Crimean War (1853-56), in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. | This is the second part of the photograph duo, "ON." Almost like a first "photoshop," Fenton either oversaw the placement of the cannonballs on the road or the process of taking them off.

2: First color photograph. Photographed in 1872 by Louis Ducos du Hauron. Taken in the Angouleme Region.

3: This photograph, "Horse Galloping," was said to be the origins of motion. It was photographed and constructed by Eadweard Muybridge in 1878.

4: "Migrant Mother" was taken during The Great Depression in 1936 by Dorothea Lange. She said that woman just let her photograph her, while her children turned away "from the stranger with the camera."

5: This photo was taken during the Vietnam war by (Nick) Ut Cong Huynh at Trangbang, South Vietnam, on June 8th, 1972. This picture depicts a girl "running naked on the street (because her clothes were burned off) after being severely burned on her back by a coordinated napalm attack."

7: This photograph was taken September 11th, 2001. It shows the second plane right before it crashed into the second Tower.

9: This is a picture of my family two days before my parents went to Boston for my mom's treatment for amyloidosis; taken December 2006. Starting from left, Daddy (Mark), Ellie (2), Hannah (17), Mommy (Sue), Emily (15), and Katy (13).
