5 Themes of Geography - Page Text Content

FC: By: Sung Ho Park Moses Lee Timmy Park

1: Location: A place of settlement, activity, or residence. We used a map of Korea because it shows longitude and latitude. Showing the longitude and latitude makes the map an example of absolute location. An example of relative location would be something like the Eiffel tower which is a famous landmark in Paris.

3: Movement: The first picture represents the movement of people such as the Pilgrims who were forced from their lands. In the bottom right picture, the spreading of religions such as Christianity show that ideas move as well. The final picture shows the spreading of goods. For example, the gun was spread throughout the world by the Europeans long ago.

5: Place includes the physical and the human characteristics of geograhy. Wildlife, such as plants and animals, and the terrain are all included in the theme, Place. Place affects how people eat, how they dress, and what they build. | Place: Place includes the physical and the human characteristics of geograhy. 7: Interaction: The girl in this picture is currently at a resort in Mexico. As you can see, she has adapted her style of clothing to a more cooling outift, thus showing interaction between her and the environment. The other picture on the right, shows a bridge that crosses a rocky chasm. The type of interaction in this picture is the modification of nature to suit man's needs. The final type of interaction is the human dependence on the environment. Things such as the Nile River in the final picture are needed for water and transportation.

9: Region: There are two main kinds of region that are used in geography. The first is shown in the map of Great Britain. This is the formal type of region and it is defined as the same government or same language in a certain area. The second region is the Vernacular region. The picture of the United States shows the division of the country depending on the perception of people.
