1: Elaine is a complicated character. She has traits such as being easily munipulated, by her friends who bullie her. She can be a coward too. WHen they are bieng mean she doesn't stick up for herself. Until they almost kill her, that is when she finds new and real friends.

3: Elaine Throughout the book Elaine changes. She becomes a stronger individual, at first in the book she is bullied and munipulated. Although after she almost dies because of them, she decides to stick up for herself. After many years seperated from the bullies she becomes normal. In the novel, during her high school years she remakes friends with one of the trio of bullies. Cordelia, which is her name is actually nice to Elaine.. Elaine is an ever changing complex character.
