5: HAMPTONS

7: LES (The Bear) TAYLOR from Indianapolis performed and recorded with Bill Doggett.

10: Original member David Lerchey (far right in photo) was born in New Albany, Indiana. The group became popular in 1957 with their smash hit, "Come Go With Me."

11: Mostly popular for his Jazz guitar, Montgomery hit the pop/soul market in the mid sixties with such titles as "California Dreaming," "Goin' Out of My Head" and the Beatles, "A Day In The Life."

13: JIMI HENDRIX & AL YOUNG 1950's

15: The Spinners in 1961 appeared on Dick Clark's American Bandstand with their hit recording of "That's What Girls Are Made For," released on the TRI-PHI label. Original member Billy Henderson was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.

16: Indianapolis born Thurston Harris was one of the original members of the famous doo-wop group The Lamplighters. They recorded many classic songs on the Federal Record label. Thurston later became popular with his own hit recording of "Little Bitty Pretty One."

17: The Spaniels, from Gary, Indiana were famous for their recording of "Goodnite Sweetheart." | Junior Walker (Autry Dewalt Mixon) was not from Indiana, but was raised in South Bend. His first band was formed in South Bend, Indiana.
