My New Puppy - Page Text Content

S: Gunter Thomassen Arrives

BC: Author: Gunter Thomassen as told to his owner Photos: Compliments of his family

FC: Gunter Arrives

I was born on Saturday, December 27, 2008.

I have three siblings. I have one brother who is chocolate like me, and two sisters who are liver and white.

I am the cutest of them all!

Jim and Teresa were looking for a new baby. They saw my cute picture on the website for Partityme Kennel in Shelby, NC. They couldn't resist!

 Could you?

They decided that I would make a nice fit with their family. So they brought me home on Sunday, February 22. My official AKC name is Parti-Tyme's Just Gettin' Started.

But I answer to Gunter. Gunter is German for vigor. Since I am a Miniature Schnauzer, the name fits.

When I came to live with them, I weighed 3.2 pounds and was about 6 inches tall.

Teresa is an educator, so I am learning all kinds of things in my new second language. | I love to play. I have lots of toys, but my favorite is the Kong wubba, rope twist, and my stuffed mouse that I brought from my first home. | After doing lots of playing and running (puppy zoomy), I am tired and ready for a nap.

I am growing and so was my fur. So it was time for a haircut. | I am growing and so was my fur. So it was time for a haircut. | The groomer said I was wiggly, but learned quickly when to be still. Handsome, don't you think? | The groomer said I was wiggly, but learned quickly when to be still. 12: Now that it is warmer, I really like being outside. My family and I go on walks around the neighborhood. I love to find sticks to chew on. It helps the pain of teething.

I think that I am pretty lucky to have my new family. They love me as much as I love them. I hope by brother and sisters were as lucky.

As I continue to grow, my family says that my personality makes them laugh. When they talk to friends that have miniature schnauzers, they say that we act a lot a like. We do things like stealing textiles, loving to eat ice, and chewing up halters. Well, have you ever tried to wear one of those?

Another trait that I exhibit, is that I love to watch TV. I get excited when I see dogs on TV or when humans are running. Anyway, I sit with my family in the recliner and watch our favorite shows.

I really enjoy being outside. I like to smell all the exciting surfaces out there. Plus there are rabbits and squirrels to find.

Jim and Teresa have enrolled me in school. I am learning all kinds of neat things. I love the part of getting a treat each time I do the right thing. | Maybe I will learn to do agility like those dogs on TV!

My favorite past-time is still playing. I love my toys. Jim and Teresa have to buy extra strong toys, but sometimes I still manage to destroy them. I guess it is the terrier part of me.

It is hard to believe that I am almost a whole year old. I have grown to my full size and now weigh fifteen pounds. I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas and then my birthday. It sounds exciting and an excellent opportunity for toys and treats.

My life has been good so far, but the best part is my family loves me and I love them!
