FC: Our Solar System

1: The Sun provides light, heat, and energy for everyone on Earth. The Sun is made up entirely of gas. It is about 4.6 billion years old.

2: Mercury the planet nearest the Sun is extremely hot on the side that faces the Sun and extremely cold on the side that faces away from the Sun.

3: Venus is known as Earth's "twin" because they are about the same size. It is also the brightest of all planets in the sky.

5: Earth Earth is the the third planet from the Sun. Animals, plants, and other organisims live all over the planet surface. Water covers most of the Earth's surface. It takes 24 hours for it to spin completely around on its axis and takes 365 days to circle around the Sun. Earth is the only planet known to hold life.
