Projects Sampling - Page Text Content

FC: Here is a sampling of some of my online projects.

Explorations is a project for grades 4-6. Students study explorers, route their expeditions on Google Earth, and embed podcasts and images.

On The Trail of the First People is a collaborative project in which students researched Native American tribes from their area, created slideshows in a wiki, and shared their information with other classes from other areas, through the wiki and by videoconferencing with Skype.

In Federal Holidays, fifth graders had to answer the question, "What does America mean to you?" After researching existing federal holidays, students envisioned a new holiday that would represent the spirit of America. Posters & persuasive arguments were created and posted to VoiceThread.

Blogging with 8 classes using Blogmeister!

Chivy Sok, activist for children's rights and inspiration for the following children's rights projects...

 Childbridge for Children's Rights

 CIRCLE of Rights

Tell Me a Story...collecting family stories & creating podcasts; multicultural book reviews on Searingtown Podcast Channel.

Fourth graders studying NY...and then meeting in the boardroom!

Fifth graders participate in a collaborative project, designing and creating political cartoons.

Students work with The Riverhead Foundation for the rescue and rehabilitation of stranded sea mammals.

Students are assigned to colonial families and research what it was like to live in colonial times.

More projects to be added soon!

BC: Thanks for viewing!
