S: ABC UNDER SEA

FC: Under Sea Alphabet Book

1: A is for anemone Anemones look like flowers to attract fish then they sting the fish and eat them. GULP!!

2: B is for baleen Baleen is the "teeth" most whales have. The baleen feels like the bristles on a toothbrush.

3: C is for cold blooded All fish are cold blooded. That means there body temp. changes with the water temp.

4: D is dordwarf pygmy goby These tiny fish are 1\3 of an inch and is transparent which means the fish is invisible!

5: E is for endangered All sea turtles are endangered. We must stop throwing bags in the water because turtles eat them.

6: F is for fins Fins propel fish around the sea.Tail fins are used for steering and dorsal fins are for show.

7: G is for gulper eel Gulper eels have stomachs that can grow and mouths so big they hang open.

8: H is for hatchet fish This fish gives off a special light called bioluminescence. This makes them nearly invisible.

9: I is for invertebrates One invertebrate is the jellyfish. It has long tentacles that is about 120 feet long!

10: J is for jump Dolphins are excellent jumpers. These friendly mammals can jump 30 feet in the air!

11: K is for krill Most whales eat krill, small animals similar to plankton.

12: l is for lion fish Lion fish use there deadly spines to keep seals and sharks away.

13: M is for midnight zone in | M is for midnight zone In the midnight zone there is hot water vents that shoots out hot water

14: O is for orca This 32 foot whale is the smallest of all whales. The orca is special because it has a nickname... killer whale!

15: P is for plankton Plankton are one celled animals that are other fishes lunch. YUM!

16: Q is for quahog do you think 100 is a long life? Well this clam can live for 200 years! Talk about great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandpa! | Q is for quahog Do you think 100 is a long life? 17: R is for reptiles Turtles are reptiles because they lay eggs, are cold blooded and have scales.

18: S is for sunlight zone The sunlight zone has the fish that we all know of like the whale.

19: T is for twilight zone In the twilight lives a giant squid. 60 feet and tenticals 52 feet long

20: W is for walrus Walruses have teeth that grow 3 feet long! And they can weigh 1 ton (2,000 pounds)!
