The Lindow Man - Page Text Content
1: Lindow Man, whose 2,000-year-old body was found in a peat bog in Cheshire, was the victim of a "simple murder and not a ritual sacrifice", according to two academics. They say that the British Museum should remove the preserved body from its galleries and erase him from the history books. | This is a model of what they think he looked like before he died.
2: The museum describes Lindow Man as a 25-year-old man who met a harsh death. His skull was smashed by blows from a heavy object, he was strangled with a cord and his throat was cut. He was allowed to bleed for a time before being placed face down in a pond in the bog.
4: Lidow Man is the only prehistoric man we are still able to look in the eye. He was found with hair on his head and one eye. His nails were also clipped to perfection. His beard and mustash were clipped and his hair was cut simi short. They think he was about 5 ft. 6 in. when he died.
