FC: A 60 Year Marriage

1: It began when.... Lou Juszkiewicz met Marie in 1946 at The Candy Store owned and operated by John and Frances Marvin. He had just returned home from the serving in World War Two. It was his favorite place to get hot chocolate with whip cream. He noticed a very Pretty Girl behind the counter named Marie Marvin who was still in high school, but working after school hours. Lou asked Marie out for a "Date" approximately Four Weeks after he met her. Their first date was spent at the Palace Theatre to see Count Basie. Afterwards they dined out at a Chinese food Restaurant and Marie had her first shrimp cocktail! (It was all the rave!) Very soon thereafter, Lou asked Marie to Marry him on Easter weekend with ring and corsage in hand. Lou was a traveling photographer, traveling throughout Ohio specializing in baby photo's. (He was called a "Kidnapper", a term used by photographers who snapped photo's of sleeping babies!) After graduation, Marie continued to work for her Parents at the Candy Store until they sold it for a new adventure out West. They loaded the wagontrain and headed for California! They moved to California with Marie's Parents and were Married in Arcata at St. Mary's Church (which has since burnt down). They began their life in Sunny Brae until they grew out of the house. They moved to Eureka into a larger house on "A" Street where they raised their Children ~ living and working hard for Forty Six years. They now reside in Healdsburg nearby most of their Children.

2: As the story was told, Marie was deciding if God wanted her to enter the convent or to be married. She prayed that God would give her a white rose if she was to become a nun or a red rose for wedded bliss. Upon her Graduation from High School, her cousin gave her a dozen red long stemmed roses. Marie and Lou raised eleven children and helped raise Marie's younger sister....Thanks, cousin, for the dozen blessings! As the Proverbs tell us, "Children are a blessing from God"

6: Big Den, the first born..Known for his great sense of humor and infectious laughter ~ and famous for his three absolutely beautiful daughters, Monica, Allison and Stephanie! Dennis and Becky live in Carson City, Nevada.

8: Washington D.C. Trip WWII Memorial Dedication Four Families converge ~and our Nation's Capital will never be the same again!

9: Celebrating Mom and Dad's 55th Anniversary on the Sacramento Riverboat Trip

10: Louise, has a grace about her coupled with wisdom and wit ~ You'll get the best advice from her. She's brilliant, musical and has a great gift of hospitality. She and her husband Terry have two terrific teens, Tim and Matt and reside in Healdsburg.

12: Memories....in the corner of my mind... distant water colored memories....of the way we were....

14: Steven was gifted with a great intellect. He is quiet, reserved and thoughtful. He was gifted musically and those who grew up around him enjoyed the music he made! He lives in Eureka.

16: Rick - Ruggedly handsome; Faithful, loyal and dependable. He is kind and a perfect gentleman. A great family man ~ Wife, Beth and three fabulous kids ~ Sarah, Amy and John live in Fresno.

20: Lorraine ~ Crazy, fun and party hostess with the mostest. Excellent taste in everything. Known for finding a good bargain! Best looking gramma on the block! She and her husband Gary rule Healdsburg!

24: Joyce ~ fun loving, joyful, and....the middle child ~ She has a creative streak and noticable acting abilities. All the world is her stage! She has one incredible son, Nicholas and one handsome hubby, Mark who live in Livermore.

28: Julie ~ Gentle and kind. She has a quiet presence yet strong in spirit. Her beauty is inside and out! Known for her famous song, "Tt's the end of the world." This song is no longer sung in public places but will be revived at Armageddon. Julie and her husband Stan live in Petaluma.

29: At home on the beaches afar...

30: Mary ~ sensitive, gentle, kind. She has a genuine tender heart with great compassion and a great sense of humor! She is a brilliant entrepreneur but you'd never know because she is so very humble. Mary and her husband, Tony live in Santa Rosa and have two fantastic, hard working, grown kids, Michael and Jana.

33: She broke her arm... | ..... in Bratislava.....

34: Raymond is another great guy. He's quiet and reserved and very spiritual. He is very inventive and creative especially in landscape designs. He lives in Eureka.

36: Christine ~ She's a Loyal friend and has a Giving nature. She is well known for her Awesome hairstyles! She and her great, little guy, Sam live in Eureka.

39: BBQ at the Bridgemans for Marie and Lou's 55th Anniversary. Surprise! Look who showed up!

40: Sharon ~ The baby in the family. She's intuitive, bright, and all around fun to be around ~ She is known for her great decorative style and can stretch a buck from SF to NYC! She and her husband Jay have one adorable son, Jackson and live in Sacramento.

43: Christmas, Weddings, Thanksgvings, Showers and Anniversaries.... We celebrate them all !

44: JoAnn - The ultimate woman. Does everything well. Known for her "Can do spirit!" Ain't No mountain too high, Ain't no valley too low , Ain't no river too wide for this gal! She has displayed a true proverbs 31 woman" ~ Her college grads, Christopher and Kimberly rise every morning and call her blessed! (Or sometimes they call for money!) They reside in Redding.
