FC: My Favorite Sister by bO
Dedicated to my Ja. Even though she screwed up everything by getting married early, I still like her quite a bit.
As a toddler, I guess I never fully developed the language skills to call Bekah, "Jie" meaning older sister in Chinese. So instead, I renamed her Ja. Pronounced "J". (I'm not too good at spelling either)
Ja's always been obsessed about her hair. From an early age, she'd already mastered the technique of obtaining Super voluminous hair.
Me and Ja have always been the best of friends. I remember nearly 20 years ago when we still shared the same room, we'd stay up late into the night discussing the latest happenings in Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Years later after I acquired my own room, I would still crawl into her bed -- making sure I ended up with the most blankets and bed surface area in the morning. | Other days, I'd sit inside the bathroom sink, enviously watching her curl and fluff her hair. Knowing well that sooner or later she'd reach over and turn the water on me, I still never moved = ] Today, I attribute my grooming skills to all those hours I sat watching intently as she applied her eyeliner and curled her eyelashes. High school was our period of great bonding. Every morning at 6:30am my freshman and sophomore year she'd drive us to school in the great big Grand caravan. She never let me fall asleep in the car rationalizing that if she couldn't sleep, then neither could I. Personally I think she just really wanted to talk to me. :D Everything was going great! But then one most terrible day...
Ja fell in love!! O_o And for some reason, her cell phone started to ring at the most inopportune times! From that day on, I knew that everything would be different. My Ja was no longer mine to have and to hold. Apparently, there was this boy...
I have to admit, from the beginning, I didn't like him at all. First, he takes away my Ja, then he goes and ruins all our family pictures! This was too much for me to take. But because Ja liked him so much, I slowly learned to accept him as my new, nearly-Asian brother.
When I was young, I used to pull my eyes back, go up to Ja and say "Hi. I'm Korean boy. Will you marry me?" Good thing for Andrew, Ja never really liked Asian guys >_<
I still love her in her marriedness.
The best part about having an older sister is the presents! That and the best cream cheese pie ever! (next to mom's, of course)
Sometimes I wonder if Ja ever questions why she got stuck with such a weird little sister named Bo. Believe it or not, up until we reached high school, she never wanted to touch me because she thought I was stinky and dirty. (Now I find it ironic that it was Ja who made Andrew brush his teeth on a regular basis)
We Love Pearl Milk Tea!! | Andrew-ba Jaba Boba
We also like llamas and donkeys, and chasing jackrabbits through the fields.
 bo-topical??
Let's have a little comparison.. Ja: Fair Asian skin Bo: Mexican Ja: Natural sun-bleached hair Bo: 1 bottle hydrogen peroxide Ja: Perfect teeth Bo: Head gear for 4 years Ja: Amazing voice Bo: Jigglypuff could do better It's amazing how people still think we look alike...
Sometimes Ja does crazy things. One time in high school, as we were driving home from youth symphony, she proposed an idea to just drive off, noting that she had mom's credit card on her. Being the compliant little sister, I actually believed her....
This picture is very deceiving.. First. Ja's not much of an outdoors person. Second, I'm not entirely sure if she actually knows how to ride a bike.
We love our Daddy!! Most people say I look more like Dad. That's probably why I have so much more facial hair than Ja.
..and Mommy, of course! We must've inherited our ravishingly good looks from the maternal side of the family. That is, except for Ja's wide feet.
Despite the seas of tears I cried seeing my sister fall in love with this boy, I realized that it's really not so bad having another brother in the family. After all, anyone who can tolerate Ja's occasional grumpiness and call me BO is good enough for me! I Love You Both!!

Just for the record, I thought I should mention that I DO KNOW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE. In fact, Bo, I remember that you were the one who refused to let dad take the training wheels off your bike for a long, long, long time.

This book, was so cool, wow, I went through it like half way the other day, but never finished. Glad, I finally got around to it today. Btw, I have some techno-guitar music playing in the background, it went together perfectly with this book! Bo, keep Mixbooking, your books are awesome!
