S: Happy Days Are Here Again

FC: Welcome to My World By Kari S.

OK. So you know my name is Kari (pronounced car ee) and that I am obviously a girl. I go to Canyon Ridge School in Arizona and have lots of good friends there. To my family, I have a mom, dad, two sisters, and a dog. Although they can be a pain, I still love them. My favorite colors are blue, pink, and green. My hobbies are playing sports and videogames. My favorite game station is the Wii, I'm very good at it.

A Little Of My Early Childhood:

I was very obnoxious and still am today. I had crazy curly hair and ran around being silly. I liked to talk to my aunts and uncles and get into trouble for back talking. However, I ate like crazy and loved sweets. My mom says I still do now, and get hyper off of sugar. Now, whenever I get hyper, I tell my mom that my body has automatic reactions to certain foods, and that scientists proved that sugar can' t make you hyper. Then I get punishment, you know, grounded from iPod and TV.

When I first went to kindergarten, no, that's not right. I was home-schooled for pre-school and then my parents sent me off to kindergarten. I rode the bus to the school, and my mom picked me up at noon. It was a half day kindergarten. Since my teacher found me breezing through my work, she decided to give me some tests and since I was so smart, I skipped kindergarten. Hooray! Away from the bullies. I would miss my two friends, but I would make more. I was transferred to a new school.

A New School Means The Next Chapter In My Life

At my new school, which was right behind my house so I didn't have to ride the bus any more, all I learned was drama, drama, and drama. From first grade to fifth grade, I had good teachers and friends came and went. I got good grades and straight A's ever since I started school. In third grade, I was tested for the GATE class and didn't make it. Anyways, there were groups like popular, cool, OK, and lower. You can guess that by the time the groups started, in third grade, I was in lower. However, I went into OK by being the first one to complete all the timed tests (see how smart I am?) Then the popular girls wanted me to hang out with them and I did, until fourth grade, when we had a fight.

The fight didn't get physical, I'm glad to say, but in fourth grade, I was down to only three true good friends. Without them, I would be so sad right now, I wouldn't have the nerve to write this book right now. But I am and that's what counts. In fifth grade, I had those same friends, and the teacher was a new one. There were two class clown/trouble makers in the class, and I never seemed to get my work done. Almost all my work was done at home. Gosh, my homework never seemed to end. Then I got tested for the GATE class again, and made it in this time.

The Rocky Road: Another New School

Last year, in sixth grade, I went to another new school to actually be challenged in the GATE. But I qualified for one subject, so I'm really an ILP. I could have never experienced more drama in my life. It was like my friends were so into dating issues and emotional problems and then my other friends hated me. Then, there was the group system all over again. Can't I get rid of DRAMA?

I am perfectly happy in the same school I went to last year, but this year has reduced amounts of drama. SEVENTH GRADE ROX! My teachers are awesome and I love the activities I am involved in. I am in Math League, though I hate math but am good at it, Future City, where you design a city using a videogame and build a model and write and present on it, and I am in National Juniors Honors Society. I am a very busy girl, according to my aunt. But I'm living life, learning it, and loving it.

I went to my first dance on November Seventh 2008 and it was really fun. I danced and won second place in the contest and got glow in the dark sticks, since the theme was black out dance. The music was like stuff on 104.7. I had soda and a slice of pizza and was the center of attention (in dancing terms if you know what I mean). Overall, I had a great night with girlfriends and guy friends. I want that night to happen all over again.

So as I live life with all these projects in the Gifted Program and relationships with friends, you should do the same. Have fun... life is too short so enjoy it while you can.

And here's a few quotes on life: Abraham Lincoln: And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Albert Einstein: Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.

Anais Nin: People living deeply have no fear of death.

Eleanor Roosevelt: People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.

Eleanor Roosevelt: I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

oh yea...and here's my quote of living life: if you're gonna change the world, ya better start changing the stuff around ya.

Be careful and do good to others. Be nice and kind. If you need help, you can always contact me at ksanford0251@dysartstudents.org Keep your e mails appropriate though (no cussing, rude comments, etc.) I will try to keep in touch with you and leave your first name so I know who you are. Thanks! I will have another book coming after I live life some more.
