Interphase | G1 | -G1 begins after the cells divide -This is when the cell grows normally | S-Phase | -The second stage of the Interphase -The period when the cell copies its DNA | G2 | -G2 is the final stage of Interphase -This is when nucleus division is prepared

 Interphase

Prophase | Check List | Nuclear membrane disintegrates | Nucleolus disappears | Chromosomes condense | spindle apparatus beings to form between poles

 Prophase

Metaphase | -During Metaphase the chromosomes: -attach to the spindle apparatus -align along the equator of the cell.

 Metaphase

Anaphase | -During Anaphase: -Microtubes shorten -Chromosomes move to opposite poles

 Anaphase

Telophase | -In Telophase: -Chromosomes reach the poles of the cell -Nuclear envelop re- forms -Nucleolus reappears -Chromosomes decondense

 Telophase

Cytokinesis | Cytokinesis in plants: -Cell plate forms -dividing the daughter cells Cytokinesis in animals: -Cleavage furrow forms at the equator -pinching inward until the cell divides

 Cytokinesis

Meiosis | Need to know -Meiosis is sexual reproduction -requires sex cells (sperm & egg) -mixes chromosomes from each host to create unique offspring Steps of Meiosis 1.Interphase -Chromosomes replicate -Chromatin condenses 2.Meiosis 1&2 -the cell goes through PMAT (Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, & Telophase) twice to create 4 cells

 Meiosis

Mitosis | Mitosis Facts -Mitosis goes through cell division ONCE to be considered one full cycle of mitosis -Mitosis is a duplicate of another cell which means it is only a haploid -In mitosis the chromosomes split to make identical ones in the new cell

Meiosis | Meiosis Facts -Meiosis goes through cell division TWICE to be considered one full cycle of Meiosis -Meiosis is 2 cells making an offspring, this means that the combination of 2 cells makes it a diploid -In meiosis the chromosomes split to combine with chromosomes of the other cell
