22: I have been reading this book "Lady Windermere's Fan"(Oscar Wilde, 1892)

23: A brief introduction about Oscar Wilde(1854 - 1900) There is a short story about Wilde. When he visited the United State to present his famous witty talk and sense of humor, a customhouse officer asked him "Do you have anything to declare?" then Wilde said "I have nothing to declare without my gifted talent." This clearly shows his impoliteness, wit and confidence. He was always proud of himself. Despite his eccentricity, he was also a sincere aesthete and a genius of writing plays. Now let's see his master piece.

24: Lady Windermere : A heroine of this play. She is submissive, naive, indecisive and conservative. Wife of Lord Windermere. | Lord Windermere: A husband of Lady Windermere. He sets great value on his wife and tries to protect her. | Main Characters of the Play

25: Mrs. Erlynne: Mother of Lady Windermere but she wants to hide the truth. Due to the fact, Lady Windermere misunderstood her husband’s behavior. Also she is pretty sociable and good at conversation. | Lord Darlington: An active and strategic man, he loves Lady Windermere and tries to take her from her husband.

26: Lord Windermere: As a husband of Widermere, he genuinely took care of her. On the other hand, he is also quite straight and stubborn man. Once he decides what he is right he never yields his insistence. He is such a desirable husband that I thought. | Favorite Characters

27: Lord Darlington: He is strongly adhesive of Lady Windermere and tried to be with her friend. When Windermere suffered agony and she asked him to be her friend, he denied it and proposed her. If he wants to be her sincere friend, he should help her genuinely. | The least Characters

28: When Lady Windermere knew the fact that Lord Windermere 's infidelity was true,(actually, it was not) she was in a state of confusion. Then, she asked Lord Darlington to be her friend. Lady Windermere : ...You said you would be my friend, Lord Darlington. Tell me, what am I to do? Be my friend now. Lord Darlington : Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship. I love you - Lady Windermere : No, no!(Rises.) | The highlight part of the play

29: The author used a typical reversal. In the play's beginning, he showed classic aristocracy. This circumstance could be boring. However, he gradually created an atmosphere to change the situation. At the moment, the mention of Lord Darlington changed overall situation. By using the reversal, readers feel excitement and expect next circumstance. | How the author get across to the reader?

30: How do characters change throughout the course of the story | After Lord Darlington's proposal, Lady Windermere went to his house but she soon felt guilty and hesitated whether following his suggestion going abroad or not. At the time, Lord Windermere visited Lord Darlington's house. However, before he came in the room, Mrs. Erlynne came into the room and gave a piece of advice to hide behind a curtain. She followed her suggestion. When Lord Windermere came in and asked him why his wife's fan is in there, Mrs. Erlynne appeared and explained that she took the fan by mistake.

31: Due to Mrs. Erlynne's improvised wit, Lany Windermere went through a crisis. Finally, she gave Mrs. Erlynne the fan given by her husband for her birthday present.
