FC: My Winged Visitors

1: Blue Jay at the water bowl. They love to fuss at me. Blue Jay Nest

2: Jays. They stay all winter. | American Robin Female Male and Juvenile | Baby American Robin

3: American Robin Male. | Eastern Blue Birds My neighbor has a blue bird house and they come to eat at my feeders. | sometimes.

4: Cedar Wax wing. Someone else took this photo. It just represents one of my birds. | Downy Woodpecker. They tend to peck on my metal awning. Really wakes me up early in the morning. | Cedar Wax Wing. I have several pairs.

5: These Are male and female Pileated Woodpeckers. They are Huge.. She was about 13 in. long and he was 16 in. long. They come every year for just a few days and then move on to elsewhere. <- -> | A male Pileated Woodpecker. Part of the pair that comes by. He is huge. I measured him to be at least 16 inches long. | Woodpecker going for the sunflower seeds. | Red headed Woodpecker. He likes to get high up in my oak trees. | Another Woodpecker At the Sunflower Seed Feeder | Red Header Woodpecker | Downey Woodpecker

6: Indigo Bunting.. This was the first year they came. There were 3 pair of them and they like to eat the sunflower seeds along with the Cardinals and Blue Jays. What a beautiful sight.

7: Female Northern Cardinal on the snow covered cedar. | Another Indigo Bunting. The color is incredible. They eat seeds at the feeder with the Cardinals and Jays | An Indigo Bunting by someone else. I looked them up to see what they were and found this photo. Yep, they're Indigo Buntings.

8: Beautiful Northern Cardinals

9: Male Yellow Warbler. So pretty. | A male Mourning Dove in the cedars. | A scarlet Tanager. Came last summer. Hope it comes again this year.

10: Mourning Doves. They eat on the ground. I throw seed out for them. They cry morning and evening. This is a female | This a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. He is very aggressive and territorial and definately not afraid of me. | Mourning Dove at the "bird bath". Normally, they stay away from the bowls but this one took a swig of water.

11: Here he is again, the male Ruby Throated Hummingbird. His wings make the biggest whirrring sounds from all the others that feed here. He is also a glutton at the feeder. | Ruby Throated Hummingbird. They come about April 15th. This is "Squeeky" a tiny female.

12: Male Turkey. They walk right across my property, cross the road and enter/exit the woods. | Female turkey. I usually see more males but I did see the female a few times. | Male Rose Breasted Grosbeak and nest

13: Male Rose Breasted Grosbeak. someone else's photo but this shows what he looks like.

14: Female Rose Breasted Grosbeak. Not my photo but looks like the female of the pair tht showed up 5-16-2008 and ate at the sunflower seed feed | RoseBreasted Grosbeak Male. A pair showed up May 16th to feed at the sunflower seed feeder.

15: Purple Martin male. They just started coming back to my neighbor's purple martin house.(May 22) | Barn Owl. Never saw them but one was dead on the road by the house. Small. | Purple Martin Female on her gourd house. | Screech Owl. I hear them at night and early pre dawn. There seems to be about 3 that come every year. My house is in the center of their trees. Stereo "whoooo who whooo s"

16: Whip poor will. Never get to see them, only hear them.

17: Bald Eagle at Stockton Lake off Hwy 215 | Common House Wren. I've got bunches of them around. | Whip poor will. Night bird that calls late into the evening. | Baltimore Oriole. A pair showed up a week after the hummingbirds to drink out of the humingbird feeder.

18: A little NutThatch. They come by as a big flock later on in the summer. | By Hawkers Point, on Lake Stockton, last summer. | Northern Mockingbird. Found a few of them in the woods.

19: Western Meadow Lark. The males really can call! | Someone else's photo of a Yellow Warbler.

20: Black Capped chickadee. It sat in the seed feeder last night for the first time. | Black vultures. There were 12 of them in a tree across the road. Something had died in the woods and they were geared up for lunch.

21: Well, its not winged but the way they fly through the trees, you'd think they had wings. They live and nest in my hickory and oak trees.

BC: Male Yellow Warbler. So pretty. | American Robin Male.
