FC: Ocean Waste

1: Dedicated to the coean and all the animals within it

2: Ocean waste is a big problem. Over the years there has been a increasing ammount of garbage that has been accumulated aroound the globe. We have allowed this to happen by careless thinking. It has taken a toll on our world and we must do something to fix it!!!

3: Here's some info to show you how bad we have impacted our ocean.

4: There are 46,000 pieces of plastic per sq. mile in the ocean

5: 1 million sea birds and 100,000 sea mammals die each year from ocean waste

6: There's a North Pacific Garbage Patch, a vortex near Hawaii, 100 thousand million tons, larger than the U.S.

7: 80% of all polution is in the ocean

8: There is 13 lbs. of garbage per every 2 lbs. of plankton in the ocean

9: Mini persistant pollutants cling to peices of plastic making them toxic, which ends up in fish, which we eat, and so they end up in us.

10: And here's some ways for you to help out!

11: Join/make your own group ban plastic bags in your city. It's possible! San Fran has already done it! | Don't use plastice bags at stores. Bring your own cloth bags.

12: Join the International Coastal Cleanup - help clean the beaches
