1: The desert is a place where lots of cactuses live and grow. A lot of animals live there too. The Sagauro Cactus is the largest cactus in the USA.

2: Many animals live in the cactuses. Some animals live in the spiny part of the cactus. Some animals eat the cactus and drink the nectar. Seeds stick to the animals, and they spread the seeds over the desert.

4: The seeds drop into the ground. The seeds grow out of the ground. Most seeds die before they take root. It is hard for a Sagauro Cactus to grow.

5: Only a lucky few Saguaros grow. They get buds and every so often they bloom. They can hold a lot of water.

6: These are pictures of mature Saguaros.

7: This is a dead cactus.

8: A Saguaro Cactus is the biggest cactus in the world.

9: A Saguaro Cactus can weigh as much as 7 cars.

10: Saguaro Cactuses can grow in different shapes and sizes.

11: They can grow to 50 feet in height.

12: A Saguaro Cactus has thorns that can be 3 inches long.

13: Saguaro Cactuses can live up to 200 years.

14: They grow many buds which flower into pretty flowers.

16: The Saguaro Cactus is a green cactus that goes up like a fat pipe.

17: They are found throughout Arizona and Texas.

18: Everyone shoud have a cactus to take care of. It is fun to watch them grow and change.
