The Beaver Dam - Page Text Content

Hi. I am Gabe, the author of this book. I hope you like it!

Ah…ah…ah…ah. “Mom, I can’t stop coughing,” Rascal said. “It’s because you’ve been drinking too much of that waste water,” Mom replied back. “It’s not healthy for beavers; so much trash. The water is getting more polluted each day. I wish Dad was here. He could fix it!” Rascal said. “Sadly,” Mom said, “Dad will never come back. He’s up in the sky.”

"I have an idea!” Rascal said. “If I make the dam a little bit wider, it will go all the way across and stop the garbage from going any farther!” “But then it will just collect garbage,” Mom said. “I can scoop it out a little each day. Although it would be a lot easier if Dad were here.” “Mom! It worked. The dam stopped the garbage!” “Really! That’s great, Honey!” Mom said. “That’s a lot of work for a child.” “Hey Mom, who are they?” asked Rascal inquisitively.

"I don’t know, Rascal.” “Mom, they’re getting closer! Why are they looking at the garbage, Mom?” Rascal asked nervously. “I don’t know,” Mom said lovingly. The people continued to clean out the water. One week later … "Mom, they’re back! But more of them! They’re getting into the water. Look…they’re taking out the garbage!” From then on the beaver dam was always clean. After the people saw what it was doing to the beavers they stopped polluting the water. Never again did the beavers have to clean the people’s mess.
