BC: His mother wasn’t mad that he was late because she just set out the nuts for dinner. “Honey you’re just in time!” She told him with a smile.

FC: The Little Red Squirrel

1: One winter day a little red squirrel named Red woke up in his tree nest.

2: He was hungry so he went to a nearby house that had a bird feeder.

3: Once he was all full he went to a big pine tree. He climbed up the trunk and out on a branch where he could jump to another tree to go home. The little squirrel went home to his mommy. “Mommy!” little Red said. “Can I go on an adventure?” “Sure, as long as you are back by supper!” she said. “Bye, Mom!” “Bye, sweetie.” So there went Red out on his adven- ture.

4: There he was climbing from tree to tree. It wasn’t long before he met a chipmunk. “Hi,” said Red. “What’s your name?” “Chippy,” said the chipmunk. “See you later!” Red said as he walked off.

5: He was walking toward the middle of the woods where the biggest trees grow. He was climbing up and down one of the trees meeting new animals and making new friends with them all. Then when he was at the top of the tree he realized it was getting dark. He remembered his mother wanted him home by supper so he rushed down the tree and straight home.
