2: Habitat The platypus lives in eastern Australia and Tasmania.It lives mostly in water, but sometimes in burrows near the water.
3: Food The platypus eats crustation,fish and worms that live under the water.
4: Anatomy The platypus has feet and a bill like a duck. It has a tail like a beaver. A platypus' body can be up to 45 cm. long. They can weigh up to 2.3 kilo.
5: Behaviors The platypus has special nerves in it's bill that sense when it's prey is moving.
6: Facts The platypus has webbed feet for swimming.Males are longer than females.A platypus is a monotreme.Distribution: Eastern Australia and Tasmania.They live in burrows.
7: Lifecycle 1.First comes the egg. 2.When the egg cracks, the baby is born. 3.The baby drinks milk that oozes through the mom's skin. 4.The baby is now a grown-up. 5.The mom lays the eggs.
8: Glossary 1.Monotreme: A mammal that lays eggs. 2.Distribution: Where it is found. 3.Burrows: Large holes.
