FC: Ambler Is... By: Aaunyae' Lucas & Valerie Jackson

1: Ambler is Chestnut Park. I like how I get to swing on the monkey bars like a monkey.

2: Ambler is Rita's Water Ice. Every summer afternoon, I go to Rita's with my friend and buy key lime.

4: Ambler is deer. They live in the woods with their babies.

6: Ambler is Halloween. When we go out at night, we're raiding the streets for candy. My house has the best, I keep coming by!

9: Ambler is flowers. I see roses in the park. I eat honeysuckles and they are good.

10: Ambler is train tracks. Every morning I hear the train go by my house. That wakes me right up. My grandma doesn't, but the train sure does.

13: Ambler is trees. There was a squirrel. He was shaking the tree and the leaves started shaking. Some got on my shoulder and some got on the ground.

14: Ambler is grass. Every other week, I go outside and help my Pop Pop mow the grass. On the tractor, I pressed “high” and didn’t know it would go that fast and I bumped into a tree!

16: Ambler is houses. Three in a row all have blue curtains!

19: Ambler is cooking. While I’m outside, I sometimes smell my grandmom’s fresh-baked extra chocolate chip cookies…I rush in the house to eat them up.

20: Ambler is a sunset. One I saw had red, orange, yellow, and there was pink. It was in front of my house.

22: Ambler is stars. At night, looking in the sky with my telescope, I see a bunch of shining stars.

23: Ambler is bugs. I see ladybugs, butterflies, and a spider as big as my hand! I want to touch it.

24: Ambler is a yellow bus. Walking down the street to the bus stop, the yellow bus arrives to take me to school.

25: Ambler is home.

BC: About the authors: Aaunyae' and Valerie are 4th grade students at Shady Grove Elementary School. Their book was inspired by Uptown by Bryan Collier. The authors took most of the photos in this book in Ambler, where they live.
