2: Chiang Mai | a | Our first evening n Chiang Mai
3: Flight of the Gibbon | & | View from our hotel. | Every morning monks from the local temples leave before sunrise & would walk barefoot through the neighborhood for offerings either food or donations for the day.

8: During our second day in Chiang Mai, Thailand we joined the tour group, Friendly Planet & traveled from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, down to Bangkok stopping in several cities along the way. | We bought spices from a man who is world famous. When we got home we cooked with it for our host family to taste.

12: Woodcraft village, items made from solid wood taking months sometimes years to complete. Mary had the opportunity to partake in the perfection of a piece in progress.
13: Learning the important roles elephants have played in the Thai lifestyle.

18: Yums | Banana Crepes | Banana Waffles | Thai Iced Coffee | Fresh tea & dried fruits | Not sure what this is but, Mary ate it! | Making of Banana Crepes | Nescafe | & a sesame flour treat. | Banana pancakes
19: GOLDEN TRIANGLE Where the Mekong River seperates Thailand, Burma & Laos. First we traveled to Mae Chan, where we boarded a boat to cross the river into Laos. Then to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand which borders the Burmese town Thakhilek.

21: The border of Burma which recently the country has changed it's name to Myanmar.
24: We drove about an hour outside of Chiang Rai into the mountains to visit some of the local hill tribes. Here is the Mien Tribe. | This woman is preparing to change the roofs on their huts.

32: We drove through the countryside passed beautiful field of rice & local fruits to the city of Lopburi. | We stopped at the city's chief landmark, Phra Prang Sam Yot which is overrun by monkeys. | We had to hold on tight to everything we had in case the monkeys became curious .
