BC: When it's all said and done "There's still no place like home"

FC: Road Trip2008

Can we go now? | Just one more picture.

We love going to zoos and we now count the Toledo Zoo as one of our favorites! There was a lot to see and we saw most of it. RuthAnne was soon jumping up and ready to go everytime we said "lets go see some more". Of course we ended our visit at the gift shop, and as you can imagine we bought quite a few souvenirs. We look forward to possible future visits of The Toledo Zoo Grace

We started seeing mountains in PA. we were so excited, the mountains there are so stunning. While we were there there was a a mist over the mountians but that didn't effect how beautiful they were. Note: When sleeping on the side of a mountain try and find a flat place to sleep. We were not on a flat camp site and we kept waking up and having to crawl back up to our pillows. Susanna

I didn't get any good pictures of this but it started raining as soon as supper was ready. No one was allowed in the tent or van so the little kids were hiding under the picnic table and us older ones were trying to crowd into the trailer. Of course it quit raining as soon as we were done eating. Susanna | We had such a small trailer that we had to unload and reload it every day! | Modern Technology offers new options while camping

Solar powered heat and electricity are part of this home. It also uses a wood furnace to generate heat. | Ray enjoys the round home he built. The home is very comfortable and affordable. This is defintely one of the best round home concepts we have seen. John

It was about now that we invaded Maine. We arrived at Uncle Ernie's house late Wednesday evening. We completely filled up his house. We crashed there for a night and then left the next morning for Cobscook Which is near Lubec, the eastern most point in the U.S. The Landscape as you go east changes alot. Maine has such a rugged beauty. These Pictures were taken at Cobscook State Park at 4:00 am, That's when the sun rises on the east coast! Susanna

This is Quoddy Head the Easternmost point in the United States.

Thursday morning we had packed up camp and were on the road by 5:30 | We were going to see Bill Copperthwaithe's house. It was about a two mile hike from the road to his house | He has five hundred acres of beautiful land. | A three mile hike in the morning with all the kids is a pretty good workout.

Bill Copperthwaith is the designer and builder of this amazing Tapered Wall Yurt. He built this house by himself without any power tools. He has a vision to help people learn the joy of building things themselves and to give them the knowledge needed to build a home of their own without going into debt. We toured all of the buildings on his land and played on his swing and saw his outdoor kithen and outdoor shower. What a great morning. Jeanine

Uncle Ernie took us to see some of the places right by where he lives. Fort ??, Pemizuid Point, and the beach. He knows alot of the local history so it was not only beautiful but he entertained us with stories as well Susanna

Niagra Fall is the Photographers paridise. You can't help but take great pictures. Just point the camera and shoot.

We arrived at Niagra Falls Wednesday night and bought tour tickets. Thursday morning we left to see the falls. The power and beauty of the falls is incredible, they are absolutly awsome! We went to the huricane deck, took a boat ride to the Canadian Horse Shoe Falls, went to a short movie at the theater, walked all over and our tour guide told us all kinds of interesting history about the falls.

If you could only go to one thing at Niagra falls I would recomend the Hurricane Deck. you get to walk right up under the falls, you get to walk under a very small part of the power of the falls. If you would really rather not be soaked then you would probably enjoy the Maid of the mist boat ride, You get to go right up to the Canadian Falls and the scenery is incredible.

Pemiquid Point | Dirty Diapers! | Niagra Falls | Toledo Zoo | Cobscook | 50th party | Quoddy Head | Lupins in Maine
