9: Spring 2012 Election Night January 2012 Santa Rosa, CA | Election nights are always a fun time for our members. The requirement is you have to perform a skit by yourself or with a group if you are running for a board position. Our board positions are six month terms with the exception of President and Treasurer. The evening allows are members to get to know each other and build leadership skills.

19: Sutter Breast Care Center says "THANK YOU" | In September of each year Redwood Empire #1029 hosts Tini's for Tatas in order to raise money for the Sutter Breast Care Center and their annual Catwalk fundraiser. This was our 8th year participating in the program and they generously honored us in an evening reception for all of our support.
21: Valentine's Day Meeting | In 2010 the Redwood Empire #1029 club started presenting donations to organizations during our monthly meeting an allowing each organization to provide a brief presentation about their organization. We have been very fortunate to raise between $30,000 and $40,000 each year.

28: HAPPY EASTER | Our annual Easter Egg hunt was held for the children of COTS, Committee on the Shelterless - April 4, 2012- Rohnert Park, CA cots-homeless.org COTS Mission Statement: COTS offers help and hope to homeless persons in Sonoma County by providing safe shelter and housing, helping people develop steady incomes and helping them get back under a roof of their own.We help homeless families become stable and break the cycle of homelessness by teaching homeless parents to make their children's needs a high priority and to provide a safe, loving and secure home for their children. Founded in early 1988, COTS started as an expression of Mary Isaak's and Laure Reichek's concern for children and adults who were sleeping outdoors in culverts, dumpsters or other unsafe and unsuitable conditions. Community volunteers provide over 50,000 hours of their time each year. COTS is also strongly supported by the cities of Petaluma and Rohnert Park, and the County of Sonoma. COTS works cooperatively with numerous social service providers in the area Our event consisted of breakfast, facepainting, egg dying, cookie decorating, an Egg-mazing hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny and some good quality fun!

37: The women of Redwood Empire #1029 ask members to bring a guest to our annual Women's Appreciation Meeting. Typically we invite our mothers, sisters, and other influential women in our lives.
39: The women of Redwood Empire #1029 joined San Francisco # 4 for a social in the city. It provides an opportunity for our members to get to know other members in our Region.
40: Santa Rosa #50 sponsored a float in the annual Rose Parade celebration in Santa Rosa. They promoted their annual July 4th fundraiser; Red White & Boom. Members and guests of Redwood Empire #1029 participated on the float in support of the event.

43: The Youth Benevolent Committee created an implemented an annual Scholarship award for local high school students. Each student submitted an application and was awarded based on need and community service activities.

54: Election Night 2012 | Fall 2012 Election Night Danica Spero hosted the event at her home in Santa Rosa. Election night is always a fun time for members. 62: 2012 International Convention Costa Rica | The International Convention was held in Costa Rica; here's President- Elect Wahi's rundown of the events: A fantastic time was had by all attendees this year at the Active 20-30 & WOCO International Convention in Puntarenas, Costa Rica!! Approximately 100 Members represented the US & Canada. Our 20-30 and WOCO Brothers and Sisters attend- ed from Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Cyprus and France. We learned about what our fellow Clubs had accomplished during the previous year and our collective goals for the upcoming year. It was wonderful to reconnect with great friends and make new ones. Many members enjoyed a zipline tour as part of Convention. We had an amazing Nations Night on the beach and enjoyed each others company throughout the week at the pool and bar. It wasn't all just fun and recreation; there was the International Board Meeting and International Annual General Meeting as well. There were several items discussed but a summary of important information for the Membership to know about is be- low.
64: Bob Burke's Kids is a year-round fun activities program for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Activities include summer barbecues each Wednesday evening along the beautiful Russian River in Forestville, California. These delicious get-togethers treat children to a day in the woods. During winter, there are bowling and trout fishing trips, plus pizza and halloween parties. To celebrate the holiday season, children enjoy a Thanksgiving party and a Christmas Social. For over 30 years Bob Burke and his supporters have provided this loving non-profit program for seriously challenged children, teens, and for families who have lost a child. Bob Burke's Kids' Program operates solely by financial contributions from the public.

72: On August 4, 2012 members of Redwood Empire #1029, Santa Rosa #50, and Healdsburg #205 invited 192 children to participate in our National Project, Kidspree. Children were invited from local programs Boys & Girls Club of Grater Santa Rosa, Catholic Charities, Committee of the Shelterless, Kidstreet, Millennium Housing Project, and Salvation Army. The success of our 2012 Crab 4 Kids, a $3,000 donation from Soroptimist of Santa Rosa made it possible to contribute more money to this project than the year before. Our Kidzone provided a safe area for the children and parents to reconnect. It also provided a area to eat breakfast, learn a little something, bounce around, and spin the Wheel of Fun.

97: Greg Darcy of Darcy's Fine Jewelers hosted our November social. We enjoyed wine, cheese, and fruit. Greg gave us 4 items to choose from as the item to be auctioned off at our annual Crab 4 Kids fundraiser. It was a tough choice for out members, and the chosen piece was beautiful! Greg also raffled off his signature heart necklace and member Raquel was the lucky winner! Thank you Greg!
