2: Meats were a vary large part of the Anglo-Saxon diet. The rich Anglo-Saxons could afford all the meat they wanted in any cut. The poor could only afford enough to flavor their food.
3: Fish and shellfish were commonly consumed. The Anglo-Saxons had to come up with new ways to prepare their fish because they got bored of eating it the same way every time. The Anglo-Saxons also ate Porpoises.
4: The Anglo-Saxons made use of whatever vegetables they could find and grow like carrots, beans, peas, wild cabbages, and wild parsnips
5: The Anglo-Saxons also made use of wheat, barley, oats, and rye
6: The Anglo-Saxons used dairy products such as milk, cheese and butter. The also ate eggs laid by their chickens.
7: The different types of meats that the Anglo-Saxons ate ranged from the animals that were raised on the farm like cows, sheep, goats, oxen, and chicken to the animals that they hunted like deer.
8: Bread was a common food eaten by the Anglo-Saxons. It was baked in large ovens.
9: The Anglo-Saxons discovered many methods of cooking their food such as baking, roasting, grilling, and toasting. They used pots, griddles and Frying pans to cook the food in.
10: The most common drink of the Anglo-Saxons was by far mead. Mead is made by fermenting honey with yeast and adding oats and fruits. The Anglo-Saxons drank mead instead of water because the rivers were not clean.
11: Wine was also a choice drink but only the rich could afford it because it had to be shipped.
