1: Causes: The Black or Bubonic Plague is caused by the bacteria, Yersinia pestis.

2: Carriers: Fleas, rodents, any insects parasitic to rodents.

3: Symptoms: High fever, tired, headaches, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, aching joints, diahira, intolerance to lights, mental disorganization, white coating on tounge, black skin.

4: History: The Bubonic plague appeared in Europe during | the Middle Ages. It was reffered to as the "Black Death." 5: Getting the Disease: The Bubonic plague is highly contagious. Anyone who breathes in particles from someone who has the disease can be infected. Treating the Disease: Antibotics work if the Bubonic plague is treated within 15 hours of the first symptoms. There is a vaccine for the disease, however, it is not available in the United States.
