38: Private Emmanuel Carota Served in the United States Marine Corps 1963 & 1964 Emmanuel & I met October 3, 1965, when his family had traveled to see the Pope and rented their Aptos house to a Cabrillo College professor. I was babysitting their children when Emmanuel came to the door and announced that he lived there! We talked at the door for 2 hours before I let him in to replenish the fire. We announced our engagement on my father's birthday, April 10, 1967.
