2: Walter Lee(Brother) Walter is mama's only son who is suppose to the head of the household, but doesn't know how to take responsibility to a man or do the things a man have to do to provide for his family. Walter is very defiant and self centered. He don't think of the future and know that his actions has consequences
5: GOALS/OBSTACLES | Walter goal is to invest in a liquor store.Two people stand in his way from achieving his goal, his mother and his sister Beneatha. Walter's mother want give him the money to invest in liquor because of her religious ethics. Beneatha is an obstacle because she is taking money from him just by trying to become a doctor
6: I am a honest responsible individual who family really depend on. I have several dreams. I want to be screenwriter, famous basketball, or singer/songwriter. The only thing that can stand in my way from achieving these goals is me. If I do what i always done these dreams will become reality.

10: "Harlem" What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore- then run?Does it stinks like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode?

Hansberry chose this poem because it fits perfectly with situations in the play
