 Jerusha Abbott
Jerusha Abbott (Judy) is a 17 year old orphan who is chosen by Mr. John Smith: otherwise known as "Daddy Long Legs" to go to college. She is the only girl that Mr. Smith has ever chosen to give a chance to go. She is chosen because of her wonderful ability to write. In return, she is to write to Mr. Smith every month even though he doesn't even read the letters.
 Daddy Long Legs
Daddy Long Long legs who's real name is John Smith is the man that sends Jerusha away to college as the only girl orphan that he has ever sent. He is also the one who Jerusha must write to. 11: Mrs. Lippett is the head person at the John Grier home. She is also the one who Meets with all of the trustees. When needed she meets with Mr. Smith if one of the boys is old enough to go to college. Along with that, she is in charge of making sure that all of the children at the asylum are taken care of and healthy.
Problem The problem in the book is that Jerusha is an orphan who is an amazing writer who may never get a chance to go to college to get a proper education. But that all changes when Daddy long Legs come to visit and reads her writing. | Solution When Daddy Long Legs reads Jerusha's wonderful stories, he decides to make her the only girl that he has ever sent to college. when she gets there she must write to him monthly to see how she is doing at college. She writes to him every month and end up graduating!
 Point of View
The authors point of view of the book is in first person. This greatly effects the book. It effects it because if it was written any other way the narrator may persuade you to like or dislike a character more than another.
The author's overall tone toward the characters was very neutral. That is because all of the book contained letters to Daddy Long Legs from Jerusha. There really is no tone to the book.
