1: What is the Stratford Shakespeare Festival?
2: The Stratford Shakespeare Festival has been around for almost 59 years.
3: Twelfth Night
4: Stratford is a big event and many theatre people, actors, playwrights and really anyone interested in drama or fine arts attend the festival.
5: "Much Ado About Nothing"
6: It is widely known for it's Shakespeare's works and being Canada's most popular fine arts festivals.
8: Five years ago the Stratford Festival troupe lost their longest running artist director, Richard Monette.
9: At 64 years old, Richard Monette died of pulmonary embolus.
10: Taking over as Artist Directors was Don Shipley, Des McAnuff, and Marti Maraden.

13: Throughout the following 2 years, 2007-2008 the three of these people led as Artist Directors until finally in '08 des McAnuff because solo Artist Director.

17: Backpacking took us to many beautiful verdant places. Our granola bars kept u alive during long walks.

19: There were many street artists who were very talented. Too bad our backpacks had no space for artwork.

23: Eating gelato, meeting strangers, living in hostels, walking along coastlines, sleeping on trains, going to festivals, eating authentic foods, learning transportation systems, buying groceries; It was all a great experience, despite the rainy days, getting lost, and taking trains in wrong directions. Immersing in different cultures taught us a lot and opened our eyes to a little bit more of the world around us.
