FC: Ft. Myers, Florida October 6-10, 2011 | Girls Weekend | Girls Weekend | Hot Mom's | Hot Mom's
Thursday, Oct 6th After a group dinner at Max & Erma's, we departed from Dayton bound for Atlanta. Our 45 minute lay over turned into a 5 minute RUN, led by Tater in her white hot running shoes. We arrived safely in Fort Myers, FL around 12:30am. | "They'll get you every time!"
As one passenger so kindly pointed out, CLEARLY, we got noticed in our bright pink matching shirts! | "We're on the tarmac, about to miss our flight, what can you do for us?" | -T on her phone
After smelling each rental van, Sleepless found the perfect carriage to haul all of our luggage.
It may be after 1am in Florida, but it is 5 o'clock somewhere! Time to unpack the Costco margarita's and celebrate our arrival!
We hit the shore first thing Friday morning--relaxing in the sand and walking the beach. Later, we walked to lunch at the local Mexican restaurant. Fish Taco's anyone?
"Thank you, DANG-CU!" | "DANG-CU" | Nails | It came in "handy" that the pedicure salon was next door to the Mexican restaurant where we ate lunch!
"Can I give you a hand?!"
Kari's Pirate Birthday Party | The birth of the "Uni-Horn" Fascinator! | 29 years old today! | 999999 | Unicorn Day is April 15th! ("Who know's that?! She does...!") | When Kari picked "Nervous Nellie's" as the location for her birthday dinner...little did she know that we would be there for the annual "Pirate's Ball"! We approached the crowd timidly, but the "fun committee" mandated that each one of us have our picture taken with a different pirate. By the end of the evening we had many "Pirate Friends"!
Mama Jugger | Will you help us talk to Pirates? | I whittled it! | Hey--my pirate's in love with Natti Lite! | We sent each Pirate over to visit the Birthday Girl!
Ames- you're going to have to order for me...this menu is too overwhelming! | NO! Not Medium! Well Done! | If anyone needs to go to the bathroom, Natti will go with you!
Aarrr, Mateys! Be Ye Hungry? We left the Pirate's Ball for a few minutes to eat dinner downstairs at a table overlooking the intercoastal waterway. There was live music playing and we danced to our favorite songs. A few pirates made their way downstairs-- we were sure to get some pictures with them! Our favorite was a very authentic Jack Sparrow look-alike. | Good thing the sandwich is a whole fish, because Tina's "gotta eat"! | What's in there? Mashed Potatoes? | Give me ye Pirate's Booty!
OUR OWN PIRATE | I only drank beer!
 Mantle Pose!
I | Mama Puma's watching you, Don Gross! | Is your hair real? Did you curl it? | "We saw you in the corner!" "You saw me in a porno?!" | He's the fiddler for Jimmy Buffet! Really?! :-( | Now, tell me all about your costumes!
PIRATES! | We need a picture of your hat for the Derby! She may buy one! | Kari--it's the Golden Haired Pirate! | I'm not a Pirate, I'm a Viceroy! CHEERS! | Velveeta sells bodices and corsets---ok, maybe it's just hats with loong plumes! | You're my favorite Pirate! | Colonial Pirate?
Woop, Woop! | Who has hand sanitizer?
It's for the children! | That's one scary pirate! | You can buy a corset on Ebay for $40!
+ = | The "Pirate's Ball" was hosted by Captain Morgan's very unfriendly "Morganette's". They handed out (very small) samples at the door. Tater, of course, mixed hers with ginger ale and our "drink of the night" was born.
 Long Live the Captain!
Room | We stayed at a condo owned by Shannon's in-laws. It was the perfect location--right on the shore! We had the pool and the beach to ourselves--it was very quiet and relaxing. | with a View!
Saturday afternoon the rain moved in. The storm didn't stop us from shopping at the outlet mall nearby! Many shopping bags later we ran for the van-- we only had one casualty! | Rain, Rain | Go Away!
"No, No, We eat at home!" | Girls Night In | A torrential downpour all Saturday afternoon led to a change in plans--"Girls Night In"! We picked up Chinese food from "China King" in Bonita Springs and brought it back to the condo. We sent pregnant Jeannette on a beer run so that we could mix beer margaritas for the evening.
Favorite Quotes: | "I naturally just don't bloat. It's a gift." "You feel that heat? It's coming from my undercarriage." "This is so awkward. I really want you to leave, but I don't know how to say it without sounding like a d*@k. "I'm glad he's single, 'cause I'm gonna climb that like a tree." "It's happening! It happened." "It's coming out of me like lava!" "You're really doing it, aren't ya? You're sh*@ing in the street." "I met a dolphin down there and I swear to God that dolphin, looked not at me, but into my soul, looked into my Go8^@*n soul." "I want to apologize. I'm not even confident on which end that came out of." "...colonial era woman on the wing, dressed in traditional garb and churning butter.” | Movie Night
We spent Sunday morning on the beach, then lunched at the tiki bar in the Holiday Inn, next door. Many of us ordered a Pina Colada "Bucket of Fun" and that, in combination with fried bar food, was "not so fun"!
Sunday night was our last night at the beach so we got dressed up and headed to a "fancy" restaurant for a delicious meal. We ordered wine, steak and seafood!
After dinner we headed downtown to do some souvenir shopping for our families. We ran into a group of elderly ladies on a "girls weekend" to celebrate a birthday--they even had matching shirts! After a while, we ducked into the "Yucatan Beach Stand" for a round of Captain & Gingers. The fun committee started up a round of "question and answer" for some good laughs.
