FC: Graham Family by the Sea 2007
When I was down beside the sea a wooden spade they gave to me to dig the sandy shore. | My holes were empty like a cup. In every hole the sea came up, til it could come no more.
Jeepers! Creepers! Where'd you get them peepers? Maggie was quite the fashion girl on and off the sand!
Let's go surfin' now! Everybody surfin' now! Come on a safari with me! Matthew's never been cooler than on the beach!
We had our friends from Japan with us on our beach trip - Mari and Elina. Matthew and Maggie were so glad to have someone to play with in the ocean! At the end of the day, I'm not quite sure who was most worn out!
Mari and Eli really loved soaking up the rays, but they just couldn't stay seated long enough to work on that savage tan! They enjoyed playing in the ocean and digging in the sand!
Looks like it's Davy Jones' locker for Matthew! | ...but he seems to be taking it rather well.
Maggie seemed to be deep in thought...for about half a minute before she ran back out to catch the next wave!
Sittin' on the dock of the bay, watchin' the clouds roll away. Sittin' on the dock of the bay, wastin' time! One of the rare moments in the life of Wayne that does NOT involve a cell phone...a blackberry...
Thursday, May 10, 2007 Mari and Elina were baptized in the Bogue Sound in Pine Knoll Shores, NC
Elina was positively radiating the joy of the Lord! From the moment she met the Lord, she just couldn't smile enough. On this day, she was so excited, and we felt so honored that the Lord had allowed us to be a part of her special day.
I have known Mari since she was five years old. I have seen her in nearly every phase of life. A few years ago, I was alerted to Mari's attempts at her own life, and our family began praying relentlessly. Mari came to stay with us, and gave her heart to the Lord. On this day, Mari celebrated her salvation with total immersion. We were also there for her first sprinkling baptism in Japan, but Mari was especially excited to be fully baptised in the Atlantic Ocean! Mari is studying for full time ministry in Japan. Praise the Lord!
Matthew and Elina spent nearly every waking moment in the ocean. They especially loved boogie boarding. Matthew even taught Eli how to dig up the little "dig dug" shells and watch them burrow down in the sand again. What joys!
Maggie would rather be on the beach than anywhere else in this world! She comes by it honestly, as I feel the same way. | She loves to collect seashells and smooth pebbles. I hope she never really grows up!
I, Linda Graham, was actually there. | ...you didn't think I'd be photographed in a swimsuit, did you?
We wrapped up a perfect week at the beach with a five year birthday party for Maggie at the Dune's Club. For some reason, she didn't want to be photographed with the cake, but we all know she was there--and that the cake was yummy! Drs Jim and Gloria Graham helped us celebrate (Wayne's mom).
We love our days at the beach. Every moment seems to be Son-kissed! Every walk serves to remind us how big our God is! What a blessing and a privilege to serve the One who created every grain of sand, every tiny seashell, every crashing wave! Wayne, Linda, Matthew and Maggie Graham May 7-11, 2007
