14: Dear Journal, October 1, 1970 Today I had a chance to visit one of the houses; it filled me with great joy. The little boy that came last week is doing better already. I think it might be worthwhile to build another house close to Kolkata. I wonder if my papa would be proud of the work I'm doing. Not that it matters, of course, because God blessed me with this job, but I am curious what he would think if he were still here. No matter, he is in a better place now. Oh! Now I realize what a long time it has been since I have seen Mama, Aga, and Lazar. The last time I heard their voices was when I was eighteen....I wonder if I shall ever see them again. I am worried about the oldest man in the newest home we built. His health has been failing for quite some time now. I will pray for him tonight. Rumor has it that I am a candidate for the Pope John Peace Prize next year. But it doesn't matter to me, I just do what I love for the people I love.
15: Dear Mother Teresa, June 1, 2011 In my English class, we had to pick a hero, and I chose you. I think you are a hero because you are caring, kind, and you've poured your whole life into making life better for others. I think that is a lot more admirable than people who just donate money to charities, or whatever. Also, my parents are from Kolkata, so I feel a kind of weird connection to you, I guess. I like that you are willing to put yourself in the slums of Kolkata to help people. This is why I think you are a hero. Sincerely, Neehar Banerjee
