For the first six months of my life, I was a total wreck, crying nonstop. The only that would calm me down was my father. Everyday when he arrived home from work, I would reach out to him, and he would take me into his arms and carry me to the living room. Immediately, my sobs quieted. He pressed play and the music began. We danced together for a while, to a mix of slow and fast songs. All the while, I stared up at him, delighted. When we finished, I was happy, but didn't want to stop. This routine continued long after I was through my colicky phase. For four years, my dad and I danced together, with a special set of songs just for us. This extremely close relationship with my father when I was young foreshadowed our relationship today. My dad and I still love to spend time together, although dancing isn't really our thing anymore. Trips to the corn maze every summer, inside jokes that no one else can understand, and endless conversations about just about everything has followed in the next thirteen years. My relationship with my dad has been crucial to the person I am today, and I am so glad I have gotten to share these past fourteen years with him. | Foreshadowing
"Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad." - Anne Geddes | "A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart."
Setting | My house has been a constant setting in my past fourteen years. I have lived in my house for my whole life. My house is a place of comfort for me, filled with love and warmth. It is my favorite place to read, relax, and spend time with my family. We play countless games together, share endless family dinners, and watch movies with each other. When it snows, since my house is on top of a hill, we sled down the hill into our neighbors yard, hiking back up the treacherous slope just to go flying back down again. Since is the only house I have ever lived in, t has been one of the main settings in my life. Other one of my main settings is school. I have spent most of my waking hours at one school or another, almost as much time I spend at home. So, as you can imagine, school is one of the most frequent settings in my life.
"There's no place like home." -Wizard of Oz
Flat Character Grandma Judy, though not related to me by blood, was a constant influence in my life. She was a source of comfort and guidance. Judy was a person who always knew how to do the right thing, no matter how difficult it may be. Even when cancer took over her body, she was still able to remain positive. She had faith that everything would work out like it should.. That was a trait of hers that I deeply admired. I could always count on her to be there for me. Her compassion for all living creatures has inspired my to help others anyway I can. My memories of the adventures we shared will remain with me forever. In my heart, I know my life will never be the same without her by my side.

Round Character | My brother, Matt , has been in my life for nine years. In that time, I have gotten to watch him grow and change as a person. As a baby, he was sweet and charming. I remember when he began to talk, and his first day of kindergarten. If I think back hard enough, I can recall his second birthday, at his party, when he smeared his cake all over his face! Now, as a fourth grader, he is a intelligent kid, who can always make me laugh. We always have so much fun together. Whether we are playing a complicated game of our own invention, or simply talking, we enjoy each other's company. When we were still little, we would "camp out" in one of our rooms., sleeping on the floor, or on separate bunks. Other times, we would hold secret meetings for our exclusive club, of which we were the only members. No matter what we do when we are together, it is sure to be a blast!
Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet. -Vietnamese Proverb
Internal Conflict | I have a long, ongoing conflict with myself. You may not have noticed, but I am an extreme perfectionist. My mind pushes me to the limits. It makes no difference whether I am doing my homework, taking a test, or skiing down the most difficult slope. No matter what, I have to give it my all, and won't stop until I have done everything required of me, and more. When it comes to school work, I have to be flawless - 93% is not good enough for me. For example, last marking period, I gained every extra credit point possible in the hopes of reaching that elusive 100% GPA. Much to my dismay, I was off by several tenths of a point. You can bet, though, that I will be aiming for perfection again. Frankly, sometimes I wish I would cut myself some slack!

"There is magic in long distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound." -Diana Cortes
Climax I have only lived fourteen short years, but the climax of my life so far is my trip to Colorado in summer 2011. Flying out there was even interesting, as it was my first solo flight. I met my friend Sophie and her family at the airport. They live just outside of Denver. Sadly, that means they are Broncos fans. On the first night of my stay, we saw a movie. We spent one day making our own movie. Also, we went swimming, and just had fun being together. After a few day, we headed to Breckenridge. Our time there was spent hiking in the mountains. The scenery was beautiful! That vacation, spent laughing with my friend and getting to know her family, is one that I will never forget.
Mood | The mood of my life so far has been upbeat and positive. Despite the occasional bump in the road, I have been fortunate. One of the aspects of my life that really influences my mood is my family. We are extremely close, and enjoy spending time together. Since I am with them most of my waking hours, they shape who I am and how I view life. They are the ones that support me, and my interactions with them are crucial to the mood of my life so far. In addition, I have been given and the ability to be active. Everyday, I am thankful that I can run, dance, and ski, when others do not have the opportunity. Also, I am so grateful that I have been given the intelligence to excel academically. I am blessed to live the life I do, and I hope the mood of my life remains so bright and happy.
