He went through many events, such as D-Day, Massacre of Frayssinet, Liberation of Paris, and Battle of the Bulge.

Throughout the war I sent Raymond letters expressing how I missed him and how much I loved him.

I Miss you By Joanna Fuchs I miss you in the morning, I miss you late at night, But I know what you are doing Is good and just and right. You're always in my thoughts; I hope that you can see I'm proud of you for serving Our country, God and me. And when you're home again I won't miss you anymore, But I'll always admire your courage For fighting in this war.

Dear Diary, I read this poem to myself and instantly thought of Raymond. I tried not to have it effect my feelings because I knew that would make everything worse. I know at the end of this horrible tragic war he will come back and we will live life like we had before. Life here without him seems so boring, like without him my life is pointless. I try not to focus my attention on thinking about him, but that is all I seem to do. It seems like now everything I see and do somehow reminds me of him. I try not to send him long letters because I feel he would get distracted by starting to miss me. Right now, the only one I seem comfortable with talking talking to...is you, diary. -Bettie

Even the newspapers can't get my mind off of him!

"And when two lovers woo they still say, I love you. On that you can rely, no matter what the future brings, as time goes by." | Dear Raymond, I heard this song and thought of you. I miss you so much and hope and pray everything is okay. I love you so much and think about you every second. It seems unrealistic to me how spouses can be without each other for so long. How do they do it? I know I couldn't live without you. -Bettie

Dear Raymond, This will be my last letter to you because you will be coming home soon. It seems like it has been forever since the last time I have seen you. I hope that you come back safe with no severe injuries. Living life without my love has been the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I truly wish that I will never have to experience a large amount of time away from you again. When you come back home it will be like a child waking up on Christmas morning, excited to see the gift that is waiting. Don't ever forget that I love you dearly and think about you every second of my life. -Bettie

This is a picture of some of Raymond's friends at the end of the war. Even though they didn't come out of the war in the best circumstances they were still glad is was over. | These are some weapons that the French used in the war. It seemed like they had very little, but in return they were able to travel easily because of their weapons being light.

This is a picture of them fighting in Trench Warfare. This form of fighting is really dangerous because you have to hide in the trenchs that you built. If you were to come out of the trench there is a likelihood you would get hit.

This is a Legion of Honor medal that was given to a case rank knight during World War Two. The person given this award was thought highly of and honored by their peers.
