I am from bright lights and flashing screens I am from the sun and the stars and the Earth and the sky I am from vast nothingness to utter infinity I am from dark and light, good and bad I am from vast depths of impenetrable darkness From fast seas of death and despair From years of violence and strife I am from the yawning maw of the darkness I am from books and words From oceans filled with ink I am from hours at a time, Spent still and quiet I am from solitude and loneliness I am from hours alone With no one to comfort me I am from the beach Just one grain of sand Surrounded by billions of others around me, But disconnected, isolated, easily swept away
I am from days filled with explosions Time spent in a deafening cacophony, Listening in harsh silence I am from destruction, born upon waves of vibrating particles I am from the taunted masses, Just another poor soul Destined to have a few fleeting moments of infamy Then left to rot in the aftermath I am from walls Built of harsh stone and destroyed life Trapped in the cage of my own head Hoping one day to be free
My Mother's Kitchen Is a wonderful place Full of food And ways to make it My Mother’s Kitchen Frequently fill with green, Vegetables and fruits Making my brother scratch at his throat My Mother’s Kitchen Full of things long dead But still edible My Mother’s Kitchen With its oven With searing flames With the blender Old and unused With its microwave Using technology unknown to me My Mother’s Kitchen Filled with its many delights Oh so sweet delights As I walk away
Son. You know my story. My life has not been easy. This world Is not a friendly place. If you are not careful It will hit you in the face. So if you were to ask me How you should be? You must be strong, You must keep moving along, No matter what happens.
You must persevere in the face of challenge, You must look the world straight in the face, Throw off its blows, And hit it back. You must win your challenges, And when you have, You will be a winner.
GSMST! O’ GSMST, Your halls are filled with knowledge, That I will acknowledge, Is quite an equal to a college. GSMST! O’GSMST, Your staff is great, To us they are nothing to us but a ‘mate, Helping to defy fate. GSMST! O’GSMST, You contain some major cooperation, Keeping you in operation, Helping us to keep movin’. GSMST! O’ GSMST, Do you see us? Your faithful patrons, One day to rule the nations.
GSMST! O’GSMST, Your new building will be clean, It will give off quite a sheen, It will look fairly mean.
Language Arts taking place in a limerick Putting that in here was quite a trick I haven't liked LA for a while But I must admit it has a style That is going to make me be sick
A red gorgeous rose. People say that love shows. But why does it represent love, when it dies? I see it as a sad beautiful blossom, that always cries. I see it living in darkness. In those gloomy meadows, I see it in funerals. On chests of the dead. So why is it said, That a stunning red rose gives love and death? -Yasmeana Doghaimat
The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on. -Carl Sandburg
