7: Francisco Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador that conquered the Incas and was the founder of Lima. | I am going to try not to get wet in this cool water tunnel!
8: Visiting Nazca | Nazca is a small desert city about 275 mile south of the capital Lima. It take about 8 hours to drive there. Nazca has a lot of interesting history like old ruins and the famous "Nazca Lines".
9: This is where we took a Buggy and drove really fast over all the dunes in the desert. | We went Sandboarding too! | Cesar was our driver and George was our navigator. Cesar drives really fast!
10: The ancient people of Nazca carved large shapes into the earth that can only be seen from the sky. They call them the Nazca lines | This is the smallest airplane we have ever been in.

13: Cusco, a magical city in the mountains of Peru. It is 11,000 feet above sea level. | Look at the cute baby Llama
14: The Hike | This is where we set off on a three day hike through the Andean mountains to reach our final destination Machu Picchu.
15: This is part of the Inca trail. | I'm glad I have the proper hiking shoes for this terrain
16: We enjoyed our trip. Meeting Quechua people, camping and seeing the llamas and alpacas. We did a lot of walking and traveled long distances with our guide Miguel and our mules.
17: On our journey we visited a school and delivered coloring books, tooth brushes and stickers. The children were very happy.

19: It was a long hike up, 4 hours. We saw animals and met many local Quechua people. It was cold and then it got hot. It was an unforgettable experience.

21: Machu Picchu | Ollantaytambo | Cusco | Welcome to Machu Picchu! This is one of the new seven wonders of the world. It was inhabited by the Inca empire. The exact purpose of this ancient site is still unknown. It was discovered by an American explorer by the name of Hiram Bingham in 1911. Machu Picchu is a beautiful and magical place. It is very large and took us the whole day to visit it. And we still didn't get to see everything.
22: The Incas were master builders. They built this huge place with no cement or mortar
23: Hello everybody, I'm a Llama and I live here in Machu Picchu! | The Incas had three sacred animals: The Puma, the Condor and the Snake. It is said that when you view the site of Machu Picchu from different angles it looks to be constructed in the shape of the condor and puma.
