FC: S O L A R S Y S T E M

1: Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Mercury moves around the sun in about 88 days, faster than any other planet.

2: Venus is the second closest planet to the sun. Venus does not have any moons.

3: Earth is the third planet from the sun and is the fifth largest planet in the solar system. Earth is where we live.

4: Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. Mars is known as the red world because of its color. Mars is the only planet that can be seen in detail from Earth.

5: Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and is the largest planet in the solar system. Jupiter has 39 moons.

6: Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest in the solar system. Saturn is famous for the rings that surround it.

7: Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun and is the third largest planet in the solar system. Uranus was the first planet discovered by use of a telescope.

8: Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. Neptune is known as the blue giant. Neptune's atmosphere is made up mostly of hydrogen and helium.

9: Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun. Pluto is the only planet that has not been visited by spacecraft. Pluto only has one moon.
