1: Red Pandas love high places, living in bamboo forest at elevations of 7,200-15,750 feet. They live in China, Nepal, Myanmar, Southern Asia and Northeastern India. They spend most of their time sleeping, playing, or laying on a tree branch! | Where Red Pandas live!
2: Red Pandas are nocturnal, being active at night. Red Pandas have a large diet, from insects to mushrooms, but bamboo is what they normally eat. When they are tired of bamboo, these omnivores will eat eggs, leaves, berries, small rodents, and acorns. In the summer, their diet will change from these to mushrooms and fruit! | Fast Fact! 3: This mammal is shy, not wanting any attention. They have whiskers, wide teeth, and very, powerful jaws. Their fur is reddish, with white markings around its face, and has a black belly. These creatures can weigh between 7-14 pounds and 20-26 inches long, similar to a house cat! | Did You Know? A Red Pandas tail can grow a big as 1 to 1 and a half feet long. WOW! What a big tail!
4: Surviving is a big part in a Red Pandas life. They need to adapt to their environment. They can use their bushy tail for balance on the treetops. Their claws help them climb. Their coat helps them to keep warm in the wintertime. They also can let out an stinky odor that protects them when in danger. These are just a few of the adaptations of a Red Panda! | How Cute! 5: There is a life cycle in a Red Panda's life. It all starts when the mating season starts. When they are done mating, they go back to prepare the den for babies. Then the babies are born! The mother can have up to 4 babies at a time. The cubs will stay in the den for up to 90 days. Then they usually leave around when the next mating season comes back. They can live up to 14 years. | These babies are so cute!
