FC: Girl Scout Camp May 13-15, 2011 | Eastern Shore Excursion
Life brings simple pleasures to us every day. It is up to us to make them wonderful memories. CathyAllen | Off on another Girl Scout Adventure..... This time we are camping on the Eastern Shore! | Our first stop....7-11
We had to make several stops on our way to camp.....
....most of them were just to take pictures!
We crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
 Time for a little exercise.
 We're on the Eastern Shore!
 We're almost there!
We finally made it to camp!
Our site number was the same as our troop number! | We finished our scavenger hunt....listing all the stuff we saw on our drive to camp.
We took a trip to the ESNWC . They took us on a short hike. We saw an eagle flying over the bay. We looked at an old bunker that was used to protect the bay. We did activities to celebrate National Migratory Bird Day.
At the Eastern Shore National Wildlife Center
The activities that were set up were really cool. They had several different types of animal bones to look at and touch. We drew pictures of birds that were turned into really cool buttons. We used tweezers, pliers, and eye droppers, to see how hard it is for a bird to use it's beak to get food. We learned about several types of birds that fly really long distances. .....and... We used binoculars to see real birds flying outside.
Back at camp we had some time to go out in the canoes. We played tag with the other boats.
 OUT ON THE WATER
FUN | We played some cards and mini golf, went to the arcade for a game of air hockey, and found some ladybugs to play with.
We made s'mores with Giant marshmallows, and watched a movie outside. When it was time for bed the second night, we realized the zipper was broke on our tent....we used clothes pins to keep the door closed for the night....good thing there weren't many bugs!
