S: Travels: eat, shop, shoot

BC: Our next destination is calling. Our wandering begins.....

FC: S.Korea 2011 | Indulgence | a | Live to Eat.

This was my second trip to S.Korea. A much needed respite from the exhaustion of academia and maybe an excuse to indulge in some measure of hedonistic desires... | My thots...

 In Search... | of ....

mascot of Seoul Guesthouse | Home | & | Hostel

 Hanok Living

 Serenpidity...

 we made it

Took the overnight train (11pm -450am) from Seoul to Jeongdongjin beach...the railway is right next to the beach. Famous for sunrise.

 Catching The Sun

Catch the sun, before it's gone Here it comes, up in smoke and gone. ( Jamie Cullum, Catch the Sun)

Catch the sun when the day has begun Savor the magic before it's gone. Catch your dream and be strong

 The Great Railway Bazzar

Train travel has always been a source of fascination for me. Often, the journeying itself holds more attraction than the destination. Most people choose air travel for speed and comfort, but I enjoy the slowness of the train , stopping at each station. Maybe , it's the romance of train travel which began with reading Thoreaux's "Riding the Iron Rootser" and "The Great Railway Bazzar".

It is those fleeting moments of epiphanies that the photographer attempts to capture on film. A fleeting moment frozen into eternity, at least with the hope that that moment with the memories and the feelings will last forever.

There is an adventure awaiting in each journey we begin right around the corner, serendipity awaits if you have the courage to follow your instinct to let each moment fill your being.

good eats | Friends say I am lucky because I have incredible metabolic rate so no matter how much I eat, I don't have to worry about losing weight.

Food is a celebration of living: savouring the artistry and passion of those who communicate with their cooking.......

live to eat | Always searching for good food wherever I go....

Indulged in Korean BBQ especially Korean beef: rib-eye, tongue, sirloin.....and of course my favourite raw beef! Even wanted to have BBQ around 3am in the wee morning after shopping at Dongdaemun.

Samgyetang or Ginseng Chicken soup..this is the most famous shop even frequented by the President. Look at the long queue on our first trip. It's very near Gyeongbokgong. | Both the Ginseng Chicken soup and roast chicken were superb.

In search of the perfect cuppa' , every coffee lovers dream...

Coffee is a culture , a lifestyle, an antidote for the weary and worry of daily life. A good cuppa is all one needs to wake the soul from slumber, for a new day, a new beginning, another journey....

A monochromatic shade allows you see the world around you with a new vision and insight......of stark beauty in black and white | Without the colours, your soul is cleansed of distraction...a purity perceived only in black and white...

 on top of

Purity perceived only in black and white | Purity perceived only in black and white | Purity perceived only in black and white

Down the rabbit hole. our adventures await.....

Each fleeting moment, each fleeting encounter, each random face, each corner we wander......what awaits?

 Randomness

You leave some part of yourself behind, and you bring back something new each time you set out on that new journey.

Maybe we have lost that child-like wonder...maybe we will begin to find it again on this journey...

Returning from each journey, we begin to long for another beginning, to wander every city, searching for that something we have yet to find...that's my nomadic longing....
