FC: VACATION | Slave Trade

1: Slavery in Africa recognized slaves as property, but others saw them as dependents who might be integrated into the families of slave owners. | Slavery existed in Africa before the arrival of the Atlantic slave trade.

2: African people have been captured and sold as slaves in their own continent and others.

3: In 1700s, up to 60,000 Africans a year were packed into holds of slave ships. Sadly many did not live through the middle passage across the Atlantic. | The slave trade had a very big affect on Africa. The Africans conquered neighbors and took slaves as prisoners and sold them to Europeans and Arabs.
