S: SOS 2011
FC: Squadron Officer School 2011
1: Mike went for five weeks to Squadron Officer School in Montgomery, AL. We missed him so much we flew out to join him the last week Oct 7-14. The first weekend we stayed in a mobile home in Niceville, FL. | Mike at Henderson Beach
2: Mike had planned everything! Meals, entertainment, housing. It was a wonderful vacation. | Midbay Shores
3: The girls loved, loved playing in the ocean. Mike had rented a kayak and they played in that,we found hermit crabs, made friends with our neighbors and collected shells.
5: On Sunday we went for a drive over the Destin bridge and we found Henderson Beach and went for a walk and promised the girls we would come back to swim. On Columbus Day (Mon.) we came back and despite a storm moving in and jellyfish we had a great time playing in the water and sand. Ellie loved the ocean and the fine, fine sand. Hannah and Kenzie jumped the waves and loved swimming. It was a beautiful beach.
6: The Apartment | The accompanied housing is small, but it has a great playground right out front. The mosquitoes were terrible, as you can see from Hannah's little eye.
7: Ellie slept in a little corner, the girls slept on the pullout bed and Mike and I slept on the queen all in the same room. While Mike was in his last week of classes, the girls and I had fun at the playground and they loved watching cartoons and playing on the beds. We met some new friends and were happy to have Mike home for lunch and in the evenings after class.
8: SOS was a great experience for Mike and we were glad that he got to be in the company of some awesome people and learn about leadership and the Air Force. On our last day we went to his graduation, looked at the airplanes, said good-bye to our new friends and got ready to fly home. We were excited to get back to our little Roy home and we ended up on the same flight as a couple of Mike's classmates. We were so proud of Mike and glad to get him back! Your girls sure love you Mike and we missed you.
