8: wrgdfbedb | Scripture Passage on Service The meaning of this passage refers to the way Jesus was considerate of others and did what was best for not only himself but society as a whole. The washing of feet was usually done by the servants in those times, and for someone with authority such as Jesus to perform this job was very unusual, but his actions showed that he was generous and caring.
9: Not only was Jesus displaying his generosity, but another meaning within this passage is that the disciples spirit's are being "cleansed " by Jesus washing their feet. By serving others, we can help cleanse them physically, emotionally and spiritually, and is also cleansing Jesus' soul as he is performing good.
