Now that I have graduated, I plan to move to Birmingham. I chose to live in this city because it is beautiful and close to my family. This city is located in the state of Alabama, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The overall population of this city is 212,038 people. Birmingham is close to Leeds, Hoover, and Homewood. The primary forms of entertainment are parks, museums and the Birmingham Zoo, Mcwane Science center, and the Alabama Jazz hall. Most people in this city work in the medical industry. The crime rate in Birmingham is high.

 Standard Living

I am going to live at Grandview Apartments in Birmingham, Alabama. The rent for this apartment is $885. In order to move in, I will need to pay a $150 security deposit. Some features of this apartment are: Washer and dryer included, studio apartment, balcony or deck, pool, and fitness center. Other bills that I will need to pay each month are electricity, phone, Internet, and cable.

Household Items The apartment I chose came equipped with are a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and stove. With the assistance of my graduation present I purchased a kitchen table and chairs, end tables, nightstand, desk, dresser, blu-ray player, kitchen items and linens. The amount $995.94, was added to my monthly budget. The majority of my funds were spent on kitchen items and dining room items. Some of my priorities for furnishing my apartment were the living room and bedroom.

At this point in the project I can afford a car. I have chosen a 2010 Dodge Challenger as my form of transportation. This car costs $19,988. I will need to pay $599.36 a month for 36 months, at 5% APR, with the interest being $1,578.96, and the total paid is $21,576.96. | Transportation

My total grocery bill for this month was $233. I purchased items in the following categories: dairy $18; Hygiene $24; home $60; and other $131.
