5: The Vietnam War was the prolonged struggle between nationalist forces attempting to unify the country of Vietnam under a communist government and the United States | it started in 1955 to 1975.

7: Armstrong joined the NASA Astronaut Corps in 1962. His first spaceflight was the NASA Gemini 8 mission in 1966,

9: In 1962, he was one of nine selected by NASA to become astronauts. Lovell was command module pilot of Apollo 8, the first orbit around the Moon. He also commanded Apollo 13, the mission that had to be aborted because of an explosion on board.
