We will start our story on a rural farm during a time not so long ago.

There was a young farm boy named Billy. Billy was a boy who didn't always get what he wanted. His dad would say for a good reason. Billy wanted a new horse, so he asked his dad “Daddy can I get a new horsey?” “I don't think so son. You haven't been getting your chores done.” Said dad.”I will do all my chores and some of my sisters. Will that make up for the chores I haven't done?” Said Billy. “Maybe, we will see if you get them all done.” Said dad. So later that day Billy was outside, hopefully doing his chores.

What Billy was really doing was running through the field chasing the cats. He was supposed to be plowing the field. When his dad seen him not doing his chores he pretended not to see that Billy was chasing the cats. He hollered out to Billy. When Billy got to the door his dad asked him, “Are you almost done plowing that field?” “Oh yes father almost done, I have been working on it this whole time.”Said Billy.

The next morning Billy was supposed to feed the cattle for his sister. But, he didn't want to get out of bed. So the cows didn't get fed. Later that day Billy's father was out milking the cows, he noticed they weren't giving as much milk as usual. He called Billy out to the barn. “Did you forget to feed the cows this morning?” Asked father. “No no not at all, I fed every one of them.” Said Billy. That's when things started to get suspicious. Father was curios.

That night Billy was cleaning a stall. His father came out and said I want to talk to you about something. Is it about my new horse asked Billy? Sort of said father, I think there is something you need to tell me. Like what? Billy said with a quiver. I have been doing all my chores haven't I. No I don't think you have said father. I have been father, I have been. Son don't lie to me, said father.K Father I haven't been doing my chores or my sisters, I just wanted my new horse. Son, father said, if you just did your fare share of work you would already have a new horse. Son nothing in life that's worth having is free.

The next day Billy was supposed to be cleaning the caw stalls for his sister. Surprisingly he was doing what he was supposed to. His father thought he was making an improvement. The here was next morning he fed the cows like he had to.

Son, father said, you've been making a big improvement, I think you just might get that horse you wanted. Really, exclaimed Billy, I sure hope I do. And so Billy got his horse.
